Our roots are actually in photography. Jon started pursuing professional photography, specializing in wedding photography, full time while in college. This soon developed into an at home photo lab, where he printed canvases and photo prints. Jon branched out into printing invitations and business products for others, then added a laser engraver to his shop. As word spread, he began to print banners, install signs and more. He added corporate clients large and small to his customer base because of his ability to handle everything from signage to business cards.

After the COVID-19 pandemic drastically affected the wedding industry, Jon decided to diversify and branch out into a physical retail location (a move supported by his wife, who got to turn his home office into a homeschool room!). Now, South Texas Signs and Engraving is a culmination of decades of hard work, trial and error and constant product and service innovation. STSE is truly a family affair, with Rachael designing and Jon creating, and their kids helping stuff mailers, seal envelopes, or whatever other jobs need to be done. We absolutely love the opportunity to work together as a family, and every product that comes out of our shop comes with the pride that we did it ourselves. We are blessed to have wonderful clients and customers who give us the privilege to work and the opportunity to spend more time with our kids and instill the entrepreneurial spirit in them.
